This workshop addresses the problem of plagiarism by changing the focus from detection and punishment (although this is always necessary) to ways of designing courses to maximise the development of intellectual autonomy so that it is less likely that students will plagiarise in the first place.
The workshop covers:
- The definition of plagiarism.
- Methods of detection.
- Fostering a culture of honesty and independence.
- Designing plagiarism-proof assessments.
