Amy joined the Subject Centre in October 2010 and works part-time as an Academic Co-ordinator in Religious Studies. She is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with academics, departments and subject associations. Her role includes organising subject-specific events such as workshops and conferences, and developing and disseminating the Centre's learning and teaching resources for Religious Studies.

She also works as a lecturer and tutor in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, University of Leeds, where she teaches a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Religious Studies including Women & Religion and Contemporary Issues in Theology, Religion and Gender, reflecting her main area of expertise in teaching; gender, religion, migration, post-colonialism and gender-based violence.

She also created and teaches the module Academic Skills for the School of Humanities and has taught on the modules ‘Globalization and the Sex Trade’ for the Department of Sociology and Social Policy and the postgraduate module ‘Global Genders’ for the Centre for Interdisciplinary Gender Studies (CIGS) at the University of Leeds.

Her research interests reflect the interdisciplinarity of her teaching. She is particularly interested in spatial and gender based applications of the sacred, embodiment, borders, mobility, religion in literature and the interaction of religion with policy in response to migrant sex workers. Her doctoral research was on the boundaries of the body and their interaction with social and spatial boundaries in human trafficking.
